Cuban Beef Burgers with Pickles & Hot Mustard

Slow Cooker Cuban Mojo Pork
Not for the faint-hearted, Hahndorf Hot Mustard, much like Ivan's music

  • 500g beef mince
  • 1 jar Beerenberg Slow Cooker Cuban Mojo Pork
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • ½ brown onion, diced
  • 1 small carrot, grated
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 6 large slices Swiss cheese
  • 6 buns, cut in half
  • 1 tablespoon Beerenberg Hahndorf Hot Mustard
  • 200g mixed lettuce
  • 6 pickles, halved lengthways


In a large bowl thoroughly mix the beef mince, Beerenberg Slow Cooker Cuban Mojo Pork, egg, breadcrumbs, onion and carrot. Roll into 6 balls and flatten into patty shapes.

Heat two frypans over medium heat and divide the oil between the pans. Add the beef patties and cook for 4 minutes or until slightly charred. Flip the patties and top each one with a slice of Swiss cheese. Cook for a further 3 minutes, or until cooked through, before removing from the heat.

Lay the 6 buns on a workbench and spread the Beerenberg Hahndorf Hot Mustard on the bottom of each bun. Top with lettuce, followed by the beef patty and pickles. Top the buns to serve.
